Started in 2000 in Bologna, FEST-FESTival is a theatre, music, dance and contemporary art intercultural festival. It lasts for six days in June and is organized by “Associazione Culturale Oltre...”.
FEST-FESTival aims to be a meeting between different arts, traditions, cultures and people (not just between different countries, but also inside the same country and between different generations for example) in order to achieve a better way of living together.

As in the past three years FEST-FESTival has been placed inside an Intercultural Centre, this makes it very close to the foreign and non-professional associations who work in there and who used to make an important contribution to the festival by presenting traditional shows, organizing ethnic cuisine workshops, etc.
Nowadays FEST-FESTival has moved out and it takes place in a park not too far from town. Because of this change, new collaborations started too, in particular with a Popular School of Music and with an Old People Centre.
Anyway, as usual, foreign and Italian professionals –actors, singers, dancers and artists in general- present their works that are linked together, keeping their tradition and culture alive, even if they go on with their own original research.
Workshops, expositions and debates are also organized.

First edition: 6 – 12 June 2000
Second edition: 5 – 10 June 2001
Third edition: 11 – 16 June 2002
Forth edition: 10 - 15 June 2003

Since 2002, FEST-FESTival is inaugurated by the PAR TòT PARADE.
“Par Tòt” is an expression coming from Bologna’s dialect and meaning “for everybody”.
Par Tòt Parade is a multicultural, ecological explosion of live music, dance, street theatre, songs, puppets.
In order to better prepare the parade, many free workshops are organized during the months before –ceramics, puppets, African drums...
